Description
This candy board is a simple structure made of a frame covered by a queen extractor. It is sold empty of sugar.
It can be used to provide a food supplement for your bees during winter if you think your bees will need it.
To fill up the candy board:
1- Mix approximately 3 kg of regular granulated sugar in a pail with a small amount of water or tea like (Sleepy-time). Keep the mix fairly dry.
2- Place two pieces of 2″ x 2″ x 3″ long in the center where the openings are, in order to keep an empty space.
3-Compact the sugar in the candy board as evenly as possible.
4- Remove the two wood blocks to free the center space and let the sugar dry.
5- Place in the hive between the brood box and the cover. Bees will be able to walk through the center holes in the queen excluder screen and feed on the sugar
