New project! A new table for the gallery.
Here is a few pictures of the creating process.

It will be made in fairly traditional style.
I decided to use the old traditional method of assembling it with only with tenon/mortice and dowels to lock the assembly.
It is the first time that I do something like this, so it is also a fascinating learning process.
What inspired me technically is clearly the work that I observe on some of the antique tables and furniture that I have which were all assembled in that manner.
I want to create something that feels like these antiques tables. This means that it will show the wood as it is, no veneer. It also means that some of the joining will be visible. Only the birch panels are assembled with glue.
Another source of inspiration is certainly the wood that I am working with, the colors of this particular birch form a beautiful reddish contrast against the maple.
My plan is to finish the top first and then design the legs.
I will keep you updated with pictures of the final assembly and the finishing process.
