A new period in the life of Emotions in Wood (EiW) started to emerge a year ago:

I joined the “ Artisan at Work” network.

In fact, nothing short of a revolution took place in 2023 at Emotions in Wood extending into 2024. Becoming an Artisan at Work lead to:

• Building the Gallery

• Creating my new EiW logo

• Inaugurating my new ÉconomuséeTM in Salmo

• Becoming an active board member of British Columbia (BC) Artisans at Work

• Launching this new web site

• Releasing new offerings in the form of new products and even workshops.

I did not go through that revolution alone:

I want to thank a number of people and organizations who supported me from the beginning and they are still behind me now:

• Joanne, my wife, who believed in me … and still does.

• The Economusée Network Society, BC branch: Dianne, Earth Studios, for recognizing the quality of my superior products and inviting me to join the network; Liz, Lillie & Cohoe ; Levi, The Kootenay Bakery Cafe; and Mélanie, Water Over Leaves  members BC Économusée Network Society for their invaluable encouragement.

The Économusée Network Society International: in particular, the guidance, enormous support and tireless work of Melanie and the brilliant art work of Mireille;

• The Société de développement économique Colombie-Britannique, Fatima, for the financial contribution and support for the project;

• The village of Salmo, from our mayor Diane and all the many people who have supported me, advised, dug, poured, built, framed, roofed, wired, drywalled, painted, and helped in many ways, or simply acknowledged the project every day: Travis (Erie Creek Building), Isaac, Woody (Slopeside Excavating), Eric (Trail Roofing Ltd), Jim (drywall & paint), Sylvia (electrical), Dennys, Farrell (concrete hard work), and Greg & Greg (cheer section).

• A special mention to my neighbor, artisan par excellence and good friend Peter, for his daily visits and huge artistical contribution.

• As well as Justin (Justin Randolph Joffe) for capturing the true feelings I have for Emotions in Wood through the video, photo work and this website

What’s coming in the near future:

• En Français: This website to become fully bilingual.

• Newsletter:  a monthly newsletter sharing what’s behind the veil at Emotions in Wood: on-going projects, new products on the go, events coming up, news about the Artisan at Work BC network, its members, its activities and expansion …, etc

• Re-publishing and expansion of:

  • the butter blog
  • the wood blog
