In December 2020, I designed and built my kitchen island because I was making bread regularly, I had limited counter space and wanted the ability to move it when I was not using it.
The island on day 1: “I used my island for the first-time last night; What a pleasure! Not only my work space has significantly increased, but it is such a pleasure to work on a stunning surface like this. It is beautiful, practical, sturdy, silky smooth and inspiring. No more heavy equipment to lift, all tools are handy. It is also so easy to clean, no corner where the flour gets trapped. I just scrape it all, wipe it off with a sponge and done! I am in bread-maker’s heaven!
More than three years later, I still have the same pleasure making my bread on my island. The bread has changed a lot, but my island is still as fantastic. It hasn’t changed at all. After all this work, these scrapings, and scrubbings, the surface is still just as beautiful with its warm colors, still as silky smooth to the fingers and still as sturdy as it was on day 1.
